TEACHER TRAINING in 2010
Teaching English as a Foreign Language Courses in Cologne

The Englisches Institut Köln in partnership with Skills 4 Business and International House London,
world leaders in teacher training, are offering the following course:

International House Introduction to English Language Teaching (ELT) Course

For less experienced teachers without TEFL training or those wishing to embark on a teaching career,
we will be running this one-week course at the Englisches Institut Köln on the following date:

1st to 5th March 2010and27th September to 1st October 2010

This is a non-certificate course, but an International House Certificate of Attendance
detailing the specific areas covered on the course will be issued.

Course fee: € 265 (incl. MWSt & coursebook)

quoting the course title. Non-native speakers with a very high level of English are welcome to apply.

ANNOUNCEMENT

The Englisches Intstitut Köln and Skills 4 Business will no longer be offering the
2-week summer preparation course for the LCCI Cert TEB/ Certificate in Teaching English
for Business.

The course was originally offered to allow teachers the chance to attend a course locally and,
as we operated on a cost-covering basis, at an affordable price. However, although the courses
have been very successful, with the abundance of teacher training courses now offered throughout Europe and the advent of easily obtainable grants (which simply require you to do a course in a country you do not reside in), we feel we are no longer offering the best financial option for local teachers.
We have enjoyed running the courses and working with so many ELTA members to help raise
standards and improve professionalism in our sector over a number of years.

We hope those interested in the course will be able to access this very useful funding and
continue to do the Cert TEB. EU Comenius grants help towards travel and subsistence costs
as well as course fees. Useful information on the grants available:
